About Mayor Julie C Wilkins
Julie C Wilkins is Mayor of the City of LaBelle. She has been a dedicated City Commissioner for the past six
years, fighting to keep the public and neighborhoods informed, beyond was a legally required. Her background
is in business, specifically real estate. She is a real estate broker and certified general appraiser. She has
a bachelor’s in business administration from Florida State University.
One of Wilkins goals while leading the city as Mayor is to be accessible. She understands the importance of
listening to the concerns of residents and our neighbors in the county. “I love the folks in LaBelle. We have
such a loving and giving community. We, in government, need to respect our citizens and listen to their
concerns and take action. We also must be proactive, planning for improvements and maintenance of existing
infrastructure.”
Wilkins has a family legacy of leadership and community involvement. She is one of two women to ever be
elected mayor of LaBelle. The first one was her mother, Sherri Craichy, fondly known as Mayor Sherri.
Wilkins has lived in LaBelle for over fifty-five years. She is married to Wayne Wilkins, a contractor, and they
have reared four children here. She is dedicated to serving the citizens of LaBelle and having a government
that is proactive, responsive to its citizens, while maintaining our character.

About Hugo
Born in Texas, a 1st-generation American, Hugo’s family found LaBelle in 1985(where Hugo started the 1st grade) and decided this was the place they’d plant roots and pursue their American Dream. Coming from a migrant family, Hugo was raised working in just about every agricultural job the area had to offer. It is here where he learned to work hard, the importance of having a strong work ethic and the need to do something different to change his life’s course. After finishing high school, he attended Sunstate Academy of Hair & Design and earned his barbers license. Hugo established the World Class Barbershop of LaBelle in 2003 and has been a community staple ever since. He is married to his beautiful wife Natasha and together they have raised their 4 kids in LaBelle. Hugo is humbled and honored to be serving the city he calls HOME!

About Daniel
Daniel W. Akin was appointed City Commission as Tax Assessor Commissioner in 2010 after the passing of Commissioner Joseph Robert “Bob” Miller, Jr. He has served as the City representative on the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council and the LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation. Daniel has been appointed Vice-Mayor by his fellow Commissioners since 2012 and currently serves on the Hendry-LaBelle Recreation Board.
He is a lifelong resident of LaBelle, a LaBelle High School Graduate and holds a Bachelor of Science in Funeral Service and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma where he also played collegiate tennis on a tennis scholarship (NCAA, Division II). He married Nanlyn Cooper in 2004 and they have two children, Greyson and Drayton, whom they cherish. He is a member of First Baptist Church in LaBelle.
Daniel worked since his youth at Akin-Davis Funeral Homes, which was co-founded by his father, Cecil. He was a licensed funeral director-embalmer, co-owner and the company President.
Daniel is now a real estate agent for Southern Heritage Realty in LaBelle.

About Bobbie
BOBBIE SPRATT was appointed to fill the vacant seat of David Kelley, as Treasurer Commissioner. She has served on the Swamp Cabbage Committee, as a Chamber Director and has volunteered for various other community events. She is a member of Carlson United Methodist Church.
She is a veteran educator of 44 years in Florida Public Schools, living in LaBelle and working in Hendry County Schools since 1973. After getting married in June 1974, she and her husband moved to Clermont for 6 months but both missed LaBelle, so they moved back in December of ’74, never to leave again.
She has worked as a teacher, guidance counselor, coach and administrator.
She most recently retired from LaBelle Middle School, where she had been a Dean of Students for 5 years.
Bobbie is a third generation, native Floridian. She graduated from Clewiston High School and has Bachelors and Master’s degrees from the University of South Florida,
She is married and has two adult children, both who graduated from LaBelle High School, Edison College and the University of Florida. She proudly claims twin grandchildren, a boy and a girl.
She is honored to have the opportunity to give back to the community she loves and calls home.
